I believe that status I made was too spontaneous that I could have restated it, so at least it could sound nice. Hence, I find this quite better, "We want to be beautiful, for us not to suffer in this judgmental society that we can never destroy."
Points to ponder:
- We all wanted to be beautiful because it gave us more self-esteem and confidence. Yeah self-esteem, because shallow people would criticize us based on looks. And even if we say we can ignore them, at the back of our minds, we are still hurt, right? And we wish if it was possible, we wanted to be someone beautiful enough so we would never experienced being insulted anymore.
- I believe everyone, even at one point in their life, tried to be beautiful. Yes, even guys. Oh c'mon. Vanity is part of our human nature.
- There is a standard beauty which almost everyone tries to achieve. Whitening products, liposuction, facial surgeries and etc are so popular.
- If I am wrong, then gender discrimination among whites and black does not exist.
- We live in the world of dichotomies, except for those who believe in Eastern Philosophy.
- Some try to challenge the notion, but I think this concept was one of those things that can barely be challenged. No matter how we try to reform the image of what is beautiful, the conventions would always dominate.
Disclaimer: I do not discriminate anyone. In fact, if I can, I want this to be reformed (You know how I always wanted to destroy norms. Lulz). I want everyone, even I myself, to be not judged according to physique. But you see, it is hopeless and that is one of so many things I grieve for. Another hostility :(
